Dealing with despondency

… It was many years ago that I read the book, ‘Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!’ by Robert Schuller.

Though the book was published about 40 years ago, the essence of its title and the context still remain relevant in our lives.

As long as we have the breadth of life, it’s expedient that we face different levels of challenges. While some of the challenges can be quickly dealt with, there are some that tends to overwhelm us and seemingly make us helplessness and exasperated.

However, becoming despondent is not an option. Hence, no matter how tough the situation or the issues are, having the willpower and self-drive to overcome the limitation is of essence.

Indeed, it takes some toughness to overcome the limits or contours of life.

Hence, no matter how tough the situation may be, remember that, ‘Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!’.

kind regards.

… Of choices and decisions

“Life is all about making choices, so always do your best to make the right ones, and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones.”

Though I’m not sure who made the above quote, but I find it instructive.

On the face value, it’s just too simple! Who doesn’t know that life is a matter of choice? We all make decisions everyday; some good, some not too good and some really bad, and so what?

However, let’s reflect:

Are there some wrong choices or wrong decisions that have been made in the past? Or is there a wrong decision that has been recently made or that you are about to make?

Okay, let’s move from the past and focus on the future. In terms of things to come; what decisions do you need to make? What decision do you need to make to be optimally productive?

…. Reflecting:

  • Are there decisions to make about an education & career advancement?
  • Are there decisions to make about relationships & family value issues?
  • Are there decisions to make about career & professionalism pursuit?
  • Are there decisions to make about business investments?
  • Are there decisions to make about service to God and faithful living?
  • Are there decisions to make about entrepreneurial, vocational and/or skill acquisitions, and other important issues?

It doesn’t really matter much how wrong we might have been in our choices or decisions, what really matters is what can be done to correct such.

… Indeed, we might have made some very terrible decisions in the past, but rather than regretting and allowing the consequences of those wrong decisions or wrong choices to continually haunt us, we should brace up and see what can be done in correcting the wrong decisions or mitigating the consequences to chart a path for a better future!

Though my perspectives may be limited, as the consequences of some wrong decisions can not be upturned, nevertheless, an attempt at making things right may mean something to someone. Whichever, let’s reflect.

“Life is all about making choices, so always do your best to make the right ones, and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones.”
